It's a pleasure for me to post for the first time in this community. I want to wish you a great weekend and, in turn, tell you how is a day at home with our dear son Emmanuel.
I always get up early to prepare the food we are going to eat during the day and, of course, have breakfast ready for when Ema gets up. Since he is on vacation now, I really enjoy sitting down to breakfast with him. My husband enjoys it too, although sometimes, because of work, he has to leave much earlier.

Es un placer para mí publicar por primera vez en esta comunidad. Quiero desearles un fin de semana estupendo y, a su vez, contarles cómo es un día en casa con nuestro querido hijo Emmanuel.
Siempre me levanto temprano para preparar los alimentos que vamos a consumir durante el día y, por supuesto, tener listo el desayuno para cuando Ema se levante. Como ahora está de vacaciones, disfruto mucho sentarme a desayunar junto a él. Mi esposo también lo disfruta, aunque a veces, por el trabajo, tiene que salir mucho más temprano.
I help Emmanuel pick up his room and he, in turn, generally helps pick up the whole house. We are working on him learning organization, taking advantage of how willing he is.
Today, finally, the mechanic came by since our cart has been damaged for some time. As always, Ema wanted to know what was going on. My husband, seeing that there were small parts, asked him to help us with some tools to keep him distracted while he and the mechanic finished welding the missing part of the engine. Soon we will be able to take the car out and enjoy these beautiful vacations we have left before Ema's new school year begins.
Ayudo a Emmanuel a recoger su cuarto y él, a su vez, ayuda en general a recoger toda la casa. Estamos trabajando en que aprenda lo que es la organización, aprovechando lo voluntarioso que es.
Hoy, por fin, vino el mecánico ya que nuestro carrito ha estado dañado por algún tiempo. Como siempre, Ema quiso saber lo que estaba pasando. Mi esposo, al ver que había piezas pequeñas, le pidió que nos ayudara con algunas herramientas para mantenerlo distraído mientras él y el mecánico terminaban de soldar la parte que faltaba del motor. Próximamente podremos sacar el carro y así disfrutar estas hermosas vacaciones que nos quedan antes de comenzar el nuevo año escolar de Ema.
When we finished and the mechanic left, we took advantage of a moment and went out to buy some food. Emmanuel is very fond of pasta and bread, and we had already run out in the pantry. So we took the opportunity to walk around for a while, distract ourselves and look for bargains in the supermarkets.
Al terminar y el mecánico irse, aprovechamos un momento y salimos a comprar algo de comida. Emmanuel es muy amante de la pasta y del pan, y ya se nos había terminado en la despensa. Así aprovechamos para caminar un rato, distraernos y ver las ofertas en los supermercados.
Emmanuel knows that there are days to eat sweets. Because of his autism condition, I have specific days when he can eat bread, pasta and some chocolate. When that day comes, he is very happy and wants to buy the whole supermarket. My husband and I have to know how to take him so he doesn't buy everything or get cranky. We always try to minimize the sugar with some fruit that he likes. First we give him fruits such as cambur, and that way he fills up. We have been using this strategy for a long time.
When we finish all the activities inside the house, we go for a walk in our locality, contemplating the scenery that nature provides. This is something Emmanuel enjoys very much.
Emmanuel sabe que hay días para comer dulce. Debido a su condición de autismo, yo le tengo días específicos en los que puede comer pan, pasta y algún chocolate. Cuando llega ese día, él se alegra mucho y quiere comprarse todo el supermercado. Mi esposo y yo tenemos que saber llevarlo para que no se compre todo o se ponga de mal humor. Siempre tratamos de minimizar el azúcar con alguna fruta que le guste. Primero le damos frutas como el cambur, y así se llena. Esta estrategia la usamos desde hace mucho tiempo.
Cuando terminamos todas las actividades dentro de la casa, salimos a dar una caminata por nuestra localidad, contemplando el paisaje que nos brinda la naturaleza. Esto es algo que Emmanuel disfruta mucho.
When my husband comes home from work, he always finds something to pick up in the yard. This is the part they enjoy the most together, since it is an activity they do under the sun. Meanwhile, I stay inside the house to prepare a delicious snack for them, because, to be honest, the sun is very tiring for me.
Cuando mi esposo llega a casa después de trabajar, siempre encuentra algo que recoger en el patio. Esta es la parte que más disfrutan juntos, ya que es una actividad que realizan bajo el sol. Mientras tanto, yo me quedo dentro de la casa para prepararles una deliciosa merienda, porque, siendo honesta, el sol es muy agotador para mí.
Although I like to enjoy the scenery and the climate of our beloved island, I recognize that when the temperature reaches 36 degrees, it is very stifling and you have to be well hydrated.
In the afternoon, if we don't have to go out to accompany my husband to the store we have a few blocks from the house, we sit with Emmanuel to review the colors. Even if he is on vacation, we always have to work with him on his activities, as children with his condition need to reaffirm knowledge every day.

Aunque me gusta disfrutar del paisaje y del clima de nuestra amada isla, reconozco que cuando la temperatura alcanza los 36 grados, es muy sofocante y hay que estar bien hidratados.
En la tarde, si no tenemos que salir para acompañar a mi esposo al local que tenemos a unas cuadras de la casa, nos sentamos con Emmanuel a repasar los colores. Aunque esté de vacaciones, siempre hay que trabajar con él en sus actividades, ya que los niños con su condición necesitan reafirmar los conocimientos todos los días.
