You can't escape with that color.

I feel like this little guy chose the wrong leaf to rest on wen I came for my macro photo walk because the strong contrast of its body color and the leaves it was resting on blew out its existence pretty easily for me.

I am not sure if this is intentional for this little guy to choose this plat so that it could show its bright colored body to the predator to spread out its fake danger sign (some of the animal use that defensive mechanism), or I was just so lucky to be able to spot this guy so easily.

This red-colored beetle is from The Lycidae Family The Lycidae are a family in the beetle order Coleoptera, members of which are commonly called net-winged beetles.

What I love about this beetle is the rigged or segmented antennae, it looks like a set of chainsaws, ready to cut everything in front of it. However,r I believe that is not the use of these antennae.

This beetle was kinda tame when I found it out, it was rather stay still when I tried to twist and turn the leaf it was resting on to be able to get another angel to photograph this beetle.

But yea, unfortunately with that bright color of its body, it is very hard for this beetle to camouflage into the green color leaves. the contrast will make him very easily detectable.

I always wonder if bright coloured beetles are poisonous or something so they won't be eaten,as you say they are not very camouflaged. Awesome shots though Eka!

from what i read that one of the main benefit of the bright color is to send a warning signal for the predator, but I am not very sure about this one, or maybe it is just an imposter to scared off the predator, haha
I am sorry for the late replay ED.

It sure made a beautiful contrast between the orange-ish color and the green leaf its resting on. I also like the way its antenna is designed, very aesthetic :)

The contrast is too much, maybe nature has its way of surprising us isn't it? !LOLZ
