Yearly Pilgrimage

Yesterday I was a little bit busy here at home. Every year at third month in the Balinese Calendar, the whole traditional village here are doing a short pilgrimage to the holy springs in the area. This pilgrimage is the start of the two consecutive ceremony in the span of two months, each ceremony lasted for 3 days each.

the people who attende the ceremony yesterday maybe about a few hundreds people. As it is almost all villager comes to join the pilgrimage. It is not us, the people who will do the cleansing, but all of the idols, and the sacred statue that we have in almost all big temple in the village. It symbolise the cleansing, before we do the ceremony in the coming days.

in the photo below was whe we wait for the ceremony to begin at the holyspring, it was led by the holy priest.

The whole procession starts from mindday until maybe around 5 in the afternoon.
