Tortoise in the leaf

I literally saw a tortoise walking around the upper side of a small leaf in the yard near my house. this is the first time I saw this creature around, and I am pretty happy to see this little guy around.

But I am not talking about the tortoise the reptile but rather a tortoise beetle, an insect that somehow resembles of a tortoise's appearance.

This little guy is the Cassidini are a tribe within the leaf beetle subfamily Cassidinae. The Cassidini comprises approximately 40 genera worldwide, and is one of the largest tribes in the subfamily, containing most of the genera and species known collectively as "tortoise beetles".

This is such an interesting insect that I found around, because of the shape of its body and also the pattern that is has on its body. It looks like this guy has an armor that protects their body from the outside, and the armor seems to cover all of their body it is even seen to be oversized armor.

And when I found it, it was also a little tame not like most of the insects that is a little bit skittish. Or maybe was lucky to find the tame one, and be able to take as many photos as I like.

Definitely looking tortoise-ish, nice name too. The leaf that its resting on compliments it well in terms of color patterns. Amazing shots as always :)

Definitely lol, they can blend well with their environment making it really hard to spot them.

Haha yes it's tortoise not the reptiles but it's beetle and i wonder from the post title how could a tortoise sit on the leaf as that reptile tortoise in my mind 😂
