Peculiar Fly

This Sunday post will be my contribution to #sublimesunday initiated by @c0ff33a, #beautifulsunday initiated by @ace108, and my #sundayrandom, where I share my random macro shots.

Happy Sunday Everyone, I wish that all of you are having a great time in this beautiful and sublime Sunday, such a nice day to spend you time with the family.

And to accompany you today, I have this random shots, but not with a few species, but I want to share one of the most peculiar and strange species that I met sometime ago. I even really surprised to see it, and I could not believe that there is this kind of fly living around my place.

From what I read and learn, this fly is a species from the Teleopsis genera, one of the genus from Family Diopsidae

Can you spot, the thing that makes this fly special?

Yap, it is their eyes that makes this fly special, at least for me, because this is the first time I see a fly with that kind of eyes. It has what seems like stalks going to the left and right side of its head, and then with the eyes on the end of the stalk.

Well, apparently, that is what makes this fly special, as they have a family with this kind of feature on its head.

Such an interesting find for me, and I am so happy to be able to share it here on Hive.

Very peculiar! At first, I thought it was an ant, as couldn't notice its wings tightly tucked on its back. Amazing shots and great find!

I assure you that I have never seen anything like it. In fact, when I quickly glanced at the first photo without reading the caption, I thought it was a very rare species of ant, because it was so thin. But it's a fly! That detail on its head and its eyes on the sides is incredible. I suppose it has a wider field of vision. Its wings also caught my attention because of their colour and pattern. It was a very rare find, and your photographs are spectacular, as always. Thank you very much for bringing us this species. Have a great Sunday!

This is also my first encounter of this species. It is easy for me to notice it is some kind of fly, as I observe it when it fly, but I was so surprised to see its eyes are actually on the side.

Interesting looking eyes on this one. Have to think if it's an alien.
