I was fooled
I was really fooled when I took the photos of this lovely beetle. Look at the color, the pattern, and the shape of this beetle you think that it will be so easy to find the name of this species. But apparently I was wrong, because it was quite hard for me to get the name of this species, and also the insect that I thought was a beetle, is actually a bug, because it doesn't have biting mouth.
I hope I am not wrong, this lovely beetle is Chrysocoris stollii is a polyphagous species of jewel bugs (Scutelleridae) common in continental Southeast Asia., one of the species from the Scutelleridae family. Scutelleridae is a family of true bugs. They are commonly known as jewel (stink) bugs or metallic shield bugs due to their often brilliant coloration. With the name based on the Asian genus Scutellera, they are also known as shield-backed bugs due to the enlargement of the thoracic scutellum into a continuous shield over the abdomen and wings.. So yeah, this insect is actually a bug, and it feeds on the juice of the host plant that they attack.
it is so interesting that this big bug doesn't have a mouth part, and despite the color, just like most of the bug you can guess that this is a priest for some of the plant.
I really love the pattern and the shiny color of its back, I believe not many predators will eat this bug, maybe they will just pass it, because of its beauty. hahah
The other problem was that this bug didn't really like to show its face to the camera, everytime I tried to get the photo from the front side, it will quickly turn its back, and move away from me.
here it started to move away from me, so I could only get those photos above from the front side of this bug.
But in the end it gave me a little bit of a smile, although the from the butt side of this bug.
Definitely the natural style of smiley.
