Green Grashopper

avatar

This is another insect that I found in the farm when did my work there while also bring my camera with the sole purpose of getting some macro shots of soem insects so that I can have subject to post here on Hive.

The plan works well that day, because it was a little bit sunny, compared to now which has been raining for a couple days. Makes it hard to work, and also to do any macro photo hunt.

The insect that I found that day was this juvenile green grasshopper. It looks so beautiful, and I think we are so lucky so far that there has never been any report that there has been a massive grashopper attack on the crops. Maybe it is because there has are so many insect eating birds still around to control their population.

Apart from that, this grashopper that I have today is very beautiful. This one is still a juvenile because of how it has not develop the wings completely yet. its bright green color also very nice, although it can blend so well with the color of the crops which could make it harder to spot them.

It seems that the rainy days have brought out this beautiful grasshopper. It's impressive how it shines, and I don't know much about insects, but now I know what a young one looks like and why.

I love its intense light green colour, and the macro photographs you managed to capture are wonderful, showing it from different angles so we can see it clearly. Very beautiful photographs, and let's hope there isn't really an invasion of them because they eat everything in their path. Best regards!
