fly on the green leaf

avatar

I am not really sure the species of this fly, but this is one most likely to be Musca vetustissima, commonly known as the Australian bush fly, is a species of fly found in Australia.. Although I could see the similarities, I am not really sure if that species name is suitable for this fly.

The coloration on its abdomen makes me believe that this is the fly, and also the place where I found it. I found it in the bushy area, a new place that I checked out some time ago, and there was some cow dung lying around because some of the villagers used to put the cows over there.

The fly is quite tame, despite the size which they are usually very skittish and quite hard to photograph, but this on is different.

it was resting on the green leaf of a bush.

Look at the coloration on its body, it certainly look like a honey bee isn't it?
very interesting species for sure.

haha, yes they are eveywhere, and they can be a huge nuisance for the core and carabao, as they drink on the water of the eyes, sometimes they can make wound on the cow's body as well.

That's an interesting fly for sure, it does have those honeybee markings. Is this an invasive species to Bali now?

I am not really sure, but I don't think it is an invasive species here.
