Dead fly

I really thought that I was so lucky when I took his photos because this fly seems to be so cooperative, and didn't even try to move a bit, my I was busy photographing it. But when I edit the photo, especially the one below, I learn that this fly might already be dead or at the end of its life cycle.

Look at the eyes of the fly below, it seems that it already has some discoloration, because this type of fly usually has bright one colored eyes. But I am really sure why and how it could still be holding on to the leaf.

Maybe if we look from another angle, then we might find the answer. Because the tip of its legs were holding onto the edge of the leaf, so maybe that grip allows this fly to hold on to the leaf without falling despite its life state.

I thought that I was super lucky as I tried to twist and turn the leaf, but the fly seemed not to care about me and kept staying in that position. But after a few shots, i just left him there and moved on to try to find another object. Because if only I knew it was dead, that I might try to get the photos from different angle again.

It looks like that fly has had better days. On the bright side it no longer has to worry about predators! Great macro shots!

😄It's flies season isn't it? Have you ever capture mosquitoes? I think it's also on season and they are just everywhere.
