Cleaning the antennae

avatar

well apparently some animal also took a very good care for thier body hygiene. And it is not just us human who really want to be clean, take shower almost everyday.

But for the animal they took a different approach, because they can't just get water, soap and soak their body and then clean themselve right? because it would be so impposible.

What they do usually they will lick their body, using their saliva to clean themselve in some animal, maybe for the cat lover they will see this behaviour pretty often.

And in th wild, this is what they do, also usuallyy clean it with their mouth as we can see what this small Katydid which I founf cleaning its long antennae using its mouth. maybe to keep it working well to detect any predator. hahah

It also show the stregth and the flexibility of the antennae, as you can see below how it can be twisted that way.

This is news to me lol, I didn't notice this behaviour much within the animal. Good hygiene practice :)
