Cassida circumdata

Today I want to share another type of tortoise beetle. But this time this has a different color and size from the previouse beetle that I share here on Hive. Both of them are so beautiful, yet they can be a problem because they feed on the leaf they are resting on. Too bad isn't it?

The beetle that is called Green Tortoise Beetle or Cassida circumdata. Cassida circumdata has small body with metallic green in color. It has compound green eyes and a pair of antennae with 11 clavate shaped. It has 3 longitudinal black band with lateral extension like shield on the wings. The middle black band on inner margin of wing shares with opposite wing.

Can you see its antennae, it very small, more like a needle.

I really love how the balck and green combination on its body, it looks so nice and also it blends so nicely with the plant it was resting on, making it harder for the predator or for us to see it.

Nice find, my friend, this turtle beetle has me covered on top, it's really cool, in my area it's very hard to find, they seem to be hiding 🤣

This is the first time I've seen this species, it's fascinating! The transparent layer covering it looks like it's trapped in a drop of water, with only its very fine antennae sticking out. Your photographs are great. It must be difficult to detect its presence because it camouflages itself so well. I love that metallic green colour. It's natural for it to feed on the leaves it rests on; it has to eat something to survive, but of course, as long as it's not the plants you want to see grow, haha. Thank you for sharing this wonder of nature with us.

It looks like it also has some transparent coating around it or was it just after a rain, and this is merely a droplet attached to it?
The two shades of green on its body looks quite beautiful :)
