Big Bug

This is one of the biggest bug that I have seen so far in the wild, as long as I remember since I getting my self into the macro photography. I am not saying that there are no bigger species out there, but this one is the biggest that I have seen so far.

and by judging from its appearance as well as the size, you might think that this insect will give you a big and dangerous bite, but lucky that this guys is pretty harmless to human.

Unfortunately it is not that much for the lychee or the longan tree where this bug will usually find its food. This is called the lychee stink bug, because of the place it usually be found.

Unfortunately as it feed on the flower buds, shoots of the lychee tree, it can caused a lof of problem for the farmer. It will caused the harvest to drop, asn the flower will drop before pollination, or the new fruit can be ruined as well. It even could caused the tree to die, in the worst case.

Look at the color contrast of the back side and the belly side of this bug. the back side has that brown colored, while the belly side is filled with white color. But it is such a docile insect, hardly moved away whenever I try to photograph it. maybe because of its size, so that it is not that afraid to human.
