Matching Outfits ESP/ENG

Before diving into dance and getting so involved in the world of the stage, I didn’t really see the point in matching outfits with my partner. It seemed cheesy to me, even a little cringey. But now? Now I think it’s actually really cute, and it sounds like a fun plan.

Antes de hacer tanta danza e involucrarme tanto con el mundo del escenario, no le veía mucho sentido tener un outfit igual con mi pareja. Me parecía cursi y me daba hasta un poco de cringe. Ahora, sin embargo, me parece muy lindo y creo que es un plan divertido.

But what would I wear with my partner? I know my partner likes these things—I know she likes them a lot. But I also know she thinks it’s a bit cheesy. And honestly, it’s not even about her. I feel like, many times, the weight of our environment makes us judge certain actions or plans just because they’re not typical. In Korea, for example, it’s completely normal for couples to dress alike.

¿Pero de qué me vestiría con mi pareja? Sé que a mi pareja le gustan estas cosas, sé que le gustan bastante. Pero también sé que piensa que es algo cursi. Y no es por ella; siento que muchas veces el peso de nuestro entorno nos hace creer y juzgar acciones o planes solo porque no son típicos. En Corea, por ejemplo, es normal que las parejas se vistan igual.

Wearing the same color, the same hat, or clothes specially made for couples—it’s actually a lovely idea. Let’s be more like this couple and have fun with it.

Vestirse de un mismo color, con un mismo sombrero, o con prendas confeccionadas para pareja me parece algo lindo. Seamos más como esta pareja y juguemos.
