Entre libros y pensamientos: 15 de enero 2024/ Between books and thoughts: january 15 2024

Hola, Hivers:

Me cuesta pensar un mundo sin libros. Estos días sin internet he conectado un poco más con la lectura, pero también me ha generado algo de ansiedad debido a que mi trabajo se ve muy limitado.

De seguro muchos de ustedes pertenecen a este cambio del mundo análogo al digital. Yo crecí grabando música de la radio en cassettes y rebobinándolos con un lapicero; mi tío tenía un VHS y teníamos que ir a alguna tienda para alquilar una película.

También soy de los que usó una Pentium II cuya capacidad apenas era de 520 megas, y usaba disquetes con una capacidad de unos 100 megas, o menos, ya ni me acuerdo.

Después llegaron los reproductores de CD, los VCD y los DVD; y al instante apareció el formato mp3, y de pronto podías descargar música y videos desde un lugar que se llamaba Ares; y también podías contactar a otras personas en diversos foros y chats y surgió el predecesor de facebook: Myspace, del cual estoy seguro algunos extrañan con mucho cariño.

Y ni qué decir del Messenger, al que podías agregar personas que ibas conociendo en los diversos foros para seguir conversando, y por supuesto, a tus amigos y compañeros de colegio...

Recuerdo que era muy activo en un foro de poesía donde compartía con personas de otros lados. Escribir y comentar, y leerlos.

Después, durante la universidad, comencé a trabajar comoGostwriter
para diferentes sitios web, y de pronto, llegó la IA.

Vivimos tiempos trepidantes y fascinantes, pero al mismo tiempo vivimos la era del instante. Las redes sociales nos muestran lo que está en tendencia ahora y puede cambiar en los próximos 5 minutos. Presenciamos guerras en vivo y directo, y encontramos gente experta por todos lados...

Ante todo esto, uno puede sentirse abrumado, y por eso es necesario descansar de todo ello, dejar tiempo para el ocio fuera del ciberespacio.

Sin embargo, es paradójico que escriba eso y me sienta con un poquito de ansiedad, y todo se debe a que para muchos de nosotros, el "lugar de trabajo" está precisamente aquí.

El mundo ha cambiado, y mucho, y seguirá cambiando. Algunos cambios serán lentos mientras otros son tan rápidos que apenas los percibimos.

Por eso, ¿Cómo mantener el equilibrio entre lo digital y lo real? No hablaré de la matrix ni de teorías conspirativas. Estas son, más bien, reflexiones que me hago para no entrar en esa espiral que me podría causar mayor daño.

Si algo me sirve de consuelo, y a ustedes también, es leer. Dedicar más tiempo a la familia y mirar la naturaleza, y soltar el teléfono, dejarlo en casa, respirar el aire y sonreír, a pesar de los problemas.

Then, during college, I started working as aGostwriter for different websites, and suddenly, AI came along.

We live in exciting and fascinating times, but at the same time we live in the era of the instant. Social networks show us what is trending now and can change in the next 5 minutes. We witness wars live and direct, and we find experts everywhere...

In the face of all this, one can feel overwhelmed, and that is why it is necessary to take a break from it all, to leave time for leisure outside of cyberspace.

However, it is paradoxical that I write that and feel a little bit anxious, and it is all because for many of us, the "workplace" is precisely here.

The world has changed, and changed a lot, and will continue to change. Some changes will be slow while others are so fast that we barely notice them.

So, how to keep the balance between the digital and the real? I will not talk about the matrix or conspiracy theories. These are, rather, reflections that I make myself in order not to get into that spiral that could cause me greater harm.

If there is any consolation for me, and for you too, it is reading. Spending more time with family and looking at nature, and putting down the phone, leaving it at home, breathing the air and smiling, despite the problems.
