Only when I started digging into the roots of electronic music, ambient, I discovered Brian Eno's Ambient Music for Airports. Love the story behind this one, why he created this. Others you may like to look into are: Ulrich Schnauss, Kruder & Dorfmeister (less ambient), Manuel Göttsching and his E2-E4 album.
