The ego, as you mention, can be both a tool and an obstacle, depending on how we manage it.
The idea of channeling something bigger than ourselves, leaving room to connect with the cosmos, is truly inspiring.
I think that we all, at some point, face that internal struggle between what we want to express and what we think we should be or do.
