I'm sure you know this, but another important thing to note about the Mottler account is that Justin Sun and the Steem witnesses stole all his Steem Power even if he was not active for so many years and unrelated to any of the whales (as far as I know) that supported Hive, not that that is an excuse.

Maybe that's why he powered down on HIVE. This meme / GIF is him when he saw his Steem Wallet. But honestly very sad for him.

I don't think he participated in the court process because most anon accounts didn't, and Justin Sun kept that.
