A New Level: New License

It's been many months since I wrote on Hive last. It used to be so nice to have extra bucks lying there waiting for me. For the past few months, since I last wrote, I have been growing. I have less money now, but life isn't all about that. I have travelled to 2 continents, I am eligible to be registered as a Licensed UK medical doctor, and I'm taking my girlfriend home to meet my parents.

I recently travelled to the UK, Nottingham and met with @belemo for the first time in 2 years since he left Nigeria. It was a challenging time for me, but everyone who eventually takes the UK exam takes the same journey. My journey was unique because I got stuck in Kenya and had to travel to Turkey to find my way to the UK, but such is life.

In this post, I want to introduce you to new topics I hope to cover now that I have permitted myself to talk about them. I'll include everyday topics like Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Malaria and the like. I'm going to be writing from my new perspective.

There are also new ways I have learnt to manage some of these common cases at home, either with over-the-counter medication or kitchen ingredients like salt.

The next part of my journey now is to get a job in the West. So far, I have applied for internships in New Zealand, and I am hoping to do the same in the UK. I have also applied for work as a General Practitioner, in the UK with the hope that I will eventually pay for my license, but all of my applications have been turned down.

There is an exam that will get me a training job in the UK. I took the exam once, and I was not so successful. Sometime in September, there is going to be a second session of this exam, and I am not sure I will be able to write it; nevertheless, I am studying hard for it. You know what they say about opportunity meeting hard work.

There are so many materials available to prepare for this exam, and to be honest, if most of my friends and family could see me taking out time to write this long post, they wouldn't be so pleased. So, forgive me if I don't have enough content.

I am also thinking of reopening my TikTok page and making health content. I used to make fitness content there, but I am not that guy any more. I mean I am not super buff. I have been following the American Heart Association's guidelines for good heart health and jogging and recently started lifting weights twice a week at least, but I am a far cry from what I used to look like when I worked out 5 days a week.

It has become a recurrent joke every month when I make my budget, I don't see anything left for a gym membership. I have targets and expensive items to pay for, so I can grow in my career.

I hope we can find time to have more conversations. I hope that you enjoyed this update and both of us grow from it. I have wanted to get back to Hive for a very long time but it has been more difficult than I thought. The next post will be about something more technical but till then it's chop knuckles and handshakes.

Take care and see you in the next pst.

I am so happy for you, for all your achievements, I think re-opening your tiktok account is a good one, it may even grow bigger than you can imagine.
