A very warm welcome to my blog everyone , It is usually believe that the rich have everything and therefore do not encounter problems as the average man does, so why the average man is crying for money to provide for his needs and several other things the rich cannot be bother by some of those things. Even in love, so it is not likely for a rich man to find love even though some people have debated that for a poor man to do so. This may not be a popular opinion but some people believe that if a poor man harms himself or herself, poverty should be held responsible that is why they say in other words life don hard for him. We have heard stories of people who committed suicide because they were owing people and simply couldn't pay or deal with the shame or face the person they are owing but what reason could the rich have for wanting to hang themselves or end their own lives. Now in the world today you hear news about how people are committing suicide because of one thing or the other, and I ask myself why suicide?.

Sometime last year it was a particular socialite in Lagos state she drove to a bridge, packed her vehicle and tried to jump into the lagoon, luckily there was a swift intervention from passersby which prevented her attempted suicide but however not everyone is so fortunate to be safed from suicide. But the question always on everybody's mind is why do they do it ?, you see suicide is a highly complex phenomenal that has di-consequences on families, communities and countries, although it may be difficult to apprehend or comprehend why someone would want to hurt themselves, suicide is among one of the leading causes of death world wide and it affects people of different ages, however the rates are higher amongst vulnerable groups who experience mental health disorders and in particular depression.

People who are commonly discriminated against and people who experience conflicts, violence, abuse or loss or the sense of isolation experience depression which leads to suicide. When it can not be lead to one particular cause suicide is a serious public health challenge that is preventable with timing and low cost interventions. Now in my blog today I will be asking three questions, this is not to move away from the other leading causes of suicide but to help us see if there is indeed a relationship between income and suicide rate.


The first question is Do we show concern and care towards the rich as we do for other social classes. Think about this, you probably have a rich uncle or a rich friend that you know, do you reach out to this person to ask how they are doing beyond calling them to ask for financial assistance, do the rich people actually have calls like that from people actually wanting to know how they are doing, their well being and the state of their health or do we just anonymously assume that because they are rich everything is going well with them. People should try and develop the habit of checking up on the people who are close to them whether rich or poor or otherwise. This gives the rich a sense of backing that they have someone who cares and thinks about them.

Question number two is what peculiar overwhelming challenges does the rich people face in our society. Now there's a common saying money cannot buy happiness, but they are poor people which wish to have that money and they say when you have that money all of a sudden you that could sleep with both eyes closed can no longer sleep with both eyes closed. So you're not even happy that you now have money the same person who was once angry, frustrated, cursing, feeling bad about their sate of poverty because of no money. So what are possible things that could overwhelm a rich man so much so that he can be pushed in taking his own lives. Now the finally question, you see sometimes people put out suicide notes in social media and are often ignored. You know sometimes they say it's tough love , when they see that nobody cares they would probably rethink their decision to want to commit suicide but when they have this people on social media that tries to stop them it's more like your fueling then to continue.

what steps can we take towards preventing suicide amongst us

It is important that we have more awareness about mental health, people are losing it everyday some could be stress, some could be not meeting up in life, some could be even how to start up the next thing. It will shock you that it Could be minor things that would trigger this thought of suicide. We need to be careful as a people and we have to also be humans, like I said most times you see on social media people are writing things that are personal and when you go to the comment section you see things that are dehumanizing, things that can not even help someone assuming the person is going through some situations. So I think that they should be awareness and people should also know where to and who to talk to when you feel like your losing it because social media is not a place for it because some person are just there catching fun and at that point they are just there to laugh at you. There is no reason that is enough to take one's life, be it as it may people are losing it, Nigeria economy is not helping and people should also try and connect and make the rich feel as if they are cared and loved by someone.


Those rich people which we usually see all the time, talk to them, the thing is you never know what people are going through the more you may think that all is well them. Reach out to somebody, reach out to the people that live in the same house with you , your spouse, your sister, your children, your parents you never know what you find.
