Diy paper sculpture of a man
Greetings and I welcome you all to my blog, it's been a wonderful day and I hope you all had a lovely day. It’s amazing how something as fragile as paper can become something so strong, something that tells a story, captures a soul, and stands tall. That was the thought that lingered in my mind as I embarked on an unusual yet exciting journey. Today I will be sharing a craft which I have made using an old newspaper at home and it's process below, I made a sculpture of a man using paper and below is my presentation.
materials
• Old newspaper
• cardboard paper
• Scissors
• Paper cutter
• Evostic gum
• Liquid gum
• Acrylic colours
• Brush
• Compass
• black embossed paper
step 1
First I cut the newspaper into two horizontally. I opened the newspaper, spread it on the table and then folded it page by page to form a paper stick using an iron.
step 2
Next I picked two of the paper stick which I folded one into two at the centre to form the head and neck of the man. I then cross it with the second paper stick to form the hands of the man. The next thing I did was to fold ten more paper sticks and arrange five by the left and five by the right of the neck to form the shoulder and body of the man. After arranging the ten sticks of paper, I tightened them up.
step 3
I picked another paper stick and folded it around on top of the stick that formed the neck.
step 4
After doing that, I then applied gum on the folded point in step 3 and then covered it with a newspaper to form the head of the man.
step 5
Here, I picked a piece of cardboard paper, cut it out and folded it to form a cone, which I cut the top to have a small opening at the top and a wider opening below.
step 6
Then I used an evostic gum to glue the body of the man and the cone shape formed in step five above.
step 7
I folded the paper stick around the chest of the man for covering and around his waist
step 8
At this step, I formed a hat. I used a compass to draw a small circle, which forms the crown on top of the hat, and a bigger circle to form the brim of the hat. I cut a rectangular shape of 1.5 cm to form the side of the crown. I joined these parts together using an Evostic gum to form the hat.
step 9
Next I then mounted the hat on the man's head using an Evostic gum. I then folded the hands of the man such that one was on the waist and the other was holding the hat.
step 10
I gummed some pieces of paper stick around the rapper of the man to serve as strives.
step 11
After that, I coloured the body of the man using a black acrylic colour and the materials at his chest and waist using a yellow acrylic colour. I also apply yellow acrylic on the strive found on his rapper.
step 12
Finally I then coloured the hat and part of the wrapper using a red acrylic colour and I cut some small pieces of black embossed paper and gummed it on the rapper.
After completely doing everything, below is my final result
This diy craft taught me that true creativity doesn’t need perfection. It needs passion, patience, and a willingness to experiment. In crafting my paper sculpture, I found a deeper connection to the art of making—of building something from scratch with limited resources and unlimited imagination. I have come to the end of my craft and I hope you all like it very much. Happy weekend to you all and have a nice day.
Ohh no. Did you get caught? :c
