Diy eggshell turtle craft : A symbol for world water day

Greetings to everyone, hope you are all doing well and fine and it's a pleasure being here once again. World water day ,celebrated on march 22 in every year is a global event used to highlight the importance of water in the environment and advocate for sustainable management for water resources. While also trying to preserve our water ecosystem we should also try and protect the animals which depends on water also. So in honour of the world water day I decided to make a turtle from eggshells which symbolizes the protection of marine life and promotes the idea of recycling waste materials.

MATERIALS

• Egg Shell
• Clay
• Acrylic Colour
• Color Palette
• Artist Brush
• Water
• Adhesive-Glue

STEP BY STEP PROCESS

First I took a small pieces of discarded eggshell and clean it using detergent and water thoroughly.

Next I used my brush to colour the top part of the eggshell with white acrylic colour.

Now, I take white clay and mold it into several small pieces. One of them is slightly bigger, while the rest are smaller. I apply glue to one side of the painted eggshell and attach the larger clay mold first. Then, I gradually attach the smaller molds around the eggshell. As you can see, the front part is slightly larger, and the back parts are smaller.

After doing that, I then took my green colour and painted the upper part of the eggshell green, then I applied a lighter green colour to the clay part of the turtle.

Using black colour, I then painted the dark green part of my turtle with polygonal shape as design.

Next, on the slightly larger front mold, I use black paint to draw the turtle's mouth. Then, I draw two eyes on either side and add small white dots inside them to create a realistic eye effect. Finally, I add tiny black dots over the body and on the small molds around it.

Finally my painting is complete and as you can see I have created a turtle craft. The big round mould part of the turtle is the face while the small moulds around the body is it's leg's, here's my final result.

World water day serves as an opportunity for people to reflect and know the importance of water and take actions to protect it. This small yet meaningful craft project reminds us that even simple efforts can contribute to a greater cause—preserving our planet’s precious water resources for future generations.
