Creativity in art : landscape pencil drawing

Greetings to the members of this community and I hope you are all doing well and fine. It's actually my first time posting in this community and I hope you all will like my art. Art is a powerful form of expression which I love to engage in and pencil drawing is one of it's purest and more versatile medium. I have always loved art, whether painting, pencil sketches or drawing, but most times I see myself unable to perform art due to time. But today I decided to try a pencil drawing of my own by drawing a landscape art. Without further ado let's go into the process of how I made this art.

MATERIALS

• Plain A4 paper
• Pencil
• Eraser
• Sharpener
• Cutting board

DRAWING PROCESS

First I started by using a shading techniques to shade a portion of my white A4 paper to give me the sky.

After that, I then used my pencil to draw and design the mountain.

I then added some more shading to the mountain and used my cutter board to rub the bottom of the mountain to look like snow.

I then added some shrubs and grasses around the mountain.

I then went ahead to draw thick grasses and bushes in the left lower part of the mountain.

Then I also drew more grasses and shrubs on the other side of the mountain as well

Again, I scrap the tip of my pencil and rub the black particles with the cutting board to form the flowing water and reflection of grasses on the water (river). I used my eraser to erase a portion in the drawing where more grasses and shrubs could be drawn.

I then drew a small portion of grasses and shrubs at the end of the river.

Lastly I then added the flying birds to my drawing to make more beautiful and realistic and then I was done.

Creativity in pencil drawing is not just about technical skill but about seeing beyond the obvious. Pencil drawing allows for spontaneity , unlike painting where colours can be mixed and sometimes become irreversible a pencil can be altered, erased and refined until the desired result is achieved.
