Creative Sunday - pencil drawing of a woman trapped in a bottle

Happy Sunday to everyone and also wishing you all a happy New month. Hope you are all doing well and good. There is something quietly powerful about Sundays. They move slowly, like a gentle stream, offering space for reflection, emotion, and creation. This particular Sunday, I sat with a blank sheet of paper and a pencil in hand, feeling the pull of an idea I couldn’t ignore. As the world outside bustled softly, I turned inward, allowing my mind to drift into a world of symbolism. What emerged from that stillness was the pencil drawing of a woman trapped inside a bottle—a piece that became both art and emotional metaphor. And so I present to you my creative Sunday drawing for today.

drawing process.

step 1

My drawing began with the bottle, a simple everyday object which I have carefully drawn.

step 2

Next I started to draw the woman trapped inside the bottle, floating in the water. I also drew her hands and legs suppended in the air.

step 3

After doing that, I then added some circle shapes in the bottle to represent bubbles.

step 4

Next I added some shade lines inside the bottle of the woman trapped in the bottle.

step 5

Next I then started to outline my drawing using my black pen, first I started with the bottle then the body of the woman.

Then lastly, I finished my drawing by adding more light and thickness to it and below is my final result.

By the time I finished, the drawing felt alive. Not just an image, but a message: there is strength even in struggle, beauty even in confinement. That woman in the bottle—she’s not broken. She’s waiting, thinking, planning. And perhaps, like all of us, she’s searching for her moment to break free. Hope you all enjoyed my drawing today and have a nice day.
