Creative Sunday - Making a gift card for women's day

Greetings to you all and a pleasure being here today. As you all know yesterday was international women's day, a day set aside to celebrate all the women and today I decided to craft something to showcase my love towards my mom. Today I decided to take a break from painting and I wanted to create something else, through the combination of painting and quilling , I made an artwork that serves as a heartfelt tribute to all women on this special occasion. So without further ado here's how I made it.

Materials needed

∎ scissors and
∎ glue

Making process

step I

To begin I started with a drawing of the girls face on a sheet of paper including her eyes and nose.

Then I drew the hat, her hair , her necklace, her hands and all other part of her body. Then I drew my entire image with a black gel pen and erased the extra pencil marks.

At this point, I then started my painting by painting the girls hat and dress with red watercolors with brush, then I coloured her hair with black colour completely

Then I cut the whole picture of the girl to size. Then I glued another orange-coloured paper with black paper around it and glued it like a border.

Next I cut a circular white paper and gum it on top of the orange frame paper, then I glue the girls picture on top of it.

After doing that, i then cut coloured paper into thin strips and I started folding it.

I continued folding the paper into small and big sizes to form a flower shape.

In this way, I have made several flowers. Then I glued the flowers on the areas from top to bottom of the girl.

Then I folded three thin papers together, and attach them from top to bottom along with the flowers and glued the small wrapped round quillings to them.

At this point, I then designed the top white part on the girls hat and made some dots.

After doing that, I then wrote happy woman hood in the card and my gift card was now complete.

Making this handmade craft on a Sunday for international women's day is a beautiful way i expressed my love and care towards my mom, I hope you all liked my craft very much and have a nice day.
