A bloom of creativity : crafting a sunflower from coloured clay
Greetings and it such an honour being her once again, as always I have come today again to share my creativity with you all and I hope you all like it. Being able to craft something allows us to capture the beauty of nature in many ways that lasts forever, and crafting a sunflower from coloured clay is a perfect example of this creative magic. One such moment of magic happened when I decided to bring a sunflower to life using nothing but colored clay. What started as a simple idea turned into a joyful, hands-on adventure—one that blended patience, creativity, and a burst of color. So without wasting much of time I will show you how I made this wonderful piece of art, stay tuned.
Materials
• Clay box
• Plastic knife for
steps In making it
step 1
At the beginning of making making the sunflower, take out brown clay from a plastic bag and give it a round shape and make small holes inside the round brown clay
step 2
Then i have taken out yellow colored clay from another plastic packet and fold it into several
pieces.
step 3
Then put a plastic knife on the folded pieces of yellow clay and make several sunflower petals.
step 4
Then around the previously made brown round clay, i attach the sunflower petals made with yellow clay around the brown clay.
step 5
Next I connected some more yellow sunflower petals made with other petals around the sunflower flower.
step 6
In this step, I then took green colour clay from a plastic packet and made two leaves and a long stem for the sunflower.
step 7
Now I then attach the green stem of 1the sunflower flower to the lower part of the sunflower flower.
step 8
After doing that, I then attach the two green stems of the sunflower to the sunflower, and I was now done with my clay sunflower.
Below is a picture of my final result and how it finally turn out to be.
As I stepped back to look at my creation, I couldn’t help but smile. The sunflower looked as if it had sprung from a cheerful daydream. This clay sunflower now sits on my desk, a small but powerful reminder that beauty can be made with our own hands. Crafting it taught me that creativity doesn’t need to be complicated—it just needs a spark of inspiration and the willingness to bring that vision to life. I hope you all like my clay sunflower that I have made today and thanks for sticking with me till the end, ha
