Once or twice I have made an impression of Doctor Blight. Sometimes I share it with a back story and sometimes I don’t. This time I did a quick mashup. There been a lot going on with me lately but I can’t at this point afford to miss a week without a Splinterlands entry. It’s practically what’s keeping me here.
This time around, I drew Blight because of his plague mask. It just drew me in for no reason and I like it.

The card

Unlike my usual tradition were I start with a blue pen, I decided to start with black as I’ve been doing in some of my works these previous months. This time it was because Blight usually dresses in black, all black with his plague mask and having blue amidst that wouldn’t look right

After the layout was done and the card character had been given life, the next thing I did was to add context in the form of depth and highlight. I did this subtly and made some effort in bringing the lamb he held to life too.

Next I touched up his staff and then his part of his clothing. Truth be told, covering his body proved to be more work than I budgeted for and that is one of the reasons I left his legs out eventually. So to create visual differences at different points in his gown I used different techniques and at some point I used multiple on one spot.

I followed the process to this point and continued shading till I had most of his body covered.

The signature and a little top up were the final touch.

The materials I used while making this sketch are Blue, Black, Green and Yellow pens.

You are more than welcome to stop by any time you feel like it. I promise to always keep you entertained with my art.

Good mix you did the truth is that sometimes it is good to change the way of starting things, the details of the clothes are great luck in the contest.
