The simple act of gratitude

Looking back at the years that have gone by, I may be quick to judge that I've not noticed any significant growth. Most of my wishes had not come true, I struggle more everyday and it seems as if everything is going worse. I have a thousand and one reasons to complain and grumble about everything but that doesn't mean I haven't had good days and times when my prayers were answered. I realized it's easy to notice the wrong and grumble about them but rarely see the blessings in those little good things that come our way.

We don't need to have a big answer to our prayer, or have those financial breakthroughs and jobs to appreciate the little good that we encounter daily. If we count our blessings daily, we will be amazed by how much the Lord has done for us. Someone was asked if he could take $1,000,000 but with the condition that he'd die the next morning. He said No. $1,000,000 is huge and that money alone could be an answer to someone's prayer, but yet refused to take it because he may lose the greatest gift that we fail to see daily( that's the gift of life).

Little things like good health, sound sleep, ability to eat and see, walk, or talk may not be recognized by some to be a blessing, until one of these is taken away. Around us are little things daily that we could be grateful for and this simple act of gratitude are signs that we acknowledge God's daily gift.
