The 21st Century: A Blessing Or Burden?

Things now look quite different from when I was growing up. There were not many sophisticated technologies at the time but life was simple and people experienced true happiness. Wealth wasn't defined by gold and luxuries, but by the ability to sustain a family with produce from your hands. We had little expectations, and all that was required was strength to be able to work. Depression wasn't much of a thing and people seemed satisfied with little things. Primitive, they may have been called but they experienced happiness and unity.

Then the deception came, a period called the 21st century aimed to make life easier, but what people didn't quite know was the exchange. Easy in exchange for happiness. We no longer walk miles to visit relatives or stay months for mail to deliver, trade by barter replaced by coins and then notes , few luxuries in exchange for possession and soon men learned greed and a culture of hierarchy based on money that became man's nemesis till date. Evolution and revolution came, unfolding with a new breed of evil until the world became infested.

This change not only affected the resources , but men's pattern of reasoning. The new normal is gaining ground and it's gradually spreading across. New laws are passed daily lacking morals and authority becoming centralized to sell their beliefs to the masses with little or no power to oppose. The question is; how did we get here? Why does each century result in a decline in morality and true happiness even when a better tomorrow is promised? There's technology to celebrate, but there's oppression beneath it that makes it cursed and I ask, is the 21st century a blessing Or a curse?
