A picture Is Worth A Thousand Words: New Genesis
What I see: A magnificent image made of sand. Seated is a woman, probably a mother with a child, which is the central figure. Contrasting with the woman is the child with a robotic design. However, the expression of the mother to the child is serene.
What I feel: The Image depicts an intersection of humanity and technology. I feel the child is a representation of the next generation, an era that has given birth to advanced technology. The serene expression of the mother suggests acceptance for her new form of life.
Story
Andrew Maslow, a blind old sculptor must have seen the future while he traced his fingers on the fine mould sand when he made the gigantic sculpture. It was an image of a mother and a child, the child with a distinct look from the mother, but the mother in her countenance had the look of acceptance.
The villagers stood in awe as they wondered what to make from it. The people in their skin-dress stood barefooted gazing the more at the child that had a look they weren't familiar with.
"What is this, Mr. Andrew?" One of the villagers asked
"The future" He answered,
"How do you see it when you can't see?" He questioned
A smile escaped Andrew's lips. "I can't see the physical, but I haven't lost my vision of a world before us".
The sculpture remained one of Mr. Andrew's best and it became a talk of the town, but the meaning far from them, until the current generation that honors Andrew's work for the future he spoke about, not in words or writing, but through his sculpture.
