2025 In a glance

The year all started with the usual ritual of making resolutions. I felt last year taught me enough lessons to be able to win this year. Little did I know, every year comes with its ups and downs and one of the mistakes I made was not preparing adequately for the downs. In an attempt to look more determined, I wrote down a few things I was hoping to achieve this year and I'm ashamed to tell you none of that was achieved and doesn't look like it would. Sometimes it seems life has something it demands that a lot of people don't do right.

The Good
Paid off debt. Made a few investments that probably may pay out well in some years to come, planning on settling down and a 0.9% growth from last year- yeah I know it's small, but that's a win. All these except the debt repayment weren't planned, they just happened while trying to make the most out of life. I'm beginning to see life in a different perspective, and the more knowledge one has about it, the sadder he becomes. I forgot to add, I invested in a farm too. It looked like a way to survive hardship and certain expenses that drains one from making major savings.

The Bad
Got into debt again. Couldn't complete my building project, other savings plans not accomplished, I did not open the business I intend starting, and none among my resolutions is accomplished. That's how life can be, while you make plans, another problem shows up that keeps one occupied from advancing and when you're out of one problem, it surfaces again. I've come to resolve that struggle is one of man's fate, we are never truly free , we only keep making little wins and celebrating each good day.

The lessons
Vicissitudes are part of life. No man is truly free, the good and bad keeps the balance. So while we chase the wins and celebrate the good times, we should also take note and make adequate preparation for the bad days that lingers in silence awaiting a moment.
