The seed of impression

Understanding people is one of the most challenging aspects of life. In my experience, it is only possible to know about 40% of a person's capabilities, regardless of the time spent together. Even with individuals we have known for years, there are many things we may still not know about them. However, most of these things may not be significant because many people never get close to us in the first place. Generally, people want to get to know you better to gather information about you within the first few seconds of meeting you. It may sound surprising, but regardless of your abilities, if your first impression is consistently negative, you might have difficulty making friends or finding employment.

Many people miss out on good opportunities because they neglect to work on their first impression. These individuals may claim to know their own worth, and while this may be true, if they don't look, act, or sound the part, it's difficult for others to take an interest in them. Consider if you've heard someone is intelligent, but when you meet them, they don't come across as smart. Most people don't have the time or patience to thoroughly assess your qualities, so you must be able to give them a glimpse of your value within the first few seconds. The impression you make in those initial seconds can last a lifetime, yet some still believe it doesn’t matter, and they are mistaken.

Impression is a seed

Some people fail to understand that others don't have the time to get to know them. Instead, people quickly form impressions based on brief observations. For instance, when going for a job interview, it's important to dress professionally rather than in tight or baggy jeans. Similarly, dressing a certain way at social gatherings can impact the benefits you receive. First impressions matter, so both your appearance and the way you sound can influence how others perceive you and whether they want to engage with you.

I have a friend who is very talkative. While some people like it, she is also one of the reasons why some people don’t want to have anything to do with her because she talks too much. Some people dislike individuals who talk excessively, which is a good enough reason not to engage with her. Another example is when you are trying to get a job and you do not sound smart and intelligent during the interview. It is certain you might not get the job. It is important to have done your homework and to sound smart and intelligent because first impressions are important and most people don’t have the time. The first few minutes are very crucial.

Don’t be deceive

Some people may not prioritize these things, and that might work for them. This could be because they are comfortable with a small social circle or have already achieved their goals. However, if you work in finance, own a business, or are seeking a job, it's crucial to make a great first impression. Focusing on your appearance, communication, and authenticity will help you leave a lasting impression. The first few minutes with someone can have a long-lasting impact, so it's important to make them count as few people are willing to spend a lot of time getting to know others.

Thanks for your time.

I couldn't agree more. It applies in many aspects of our lives, just like what the old saying "first impression last". Good read, thanks for sharing :)

First impression is always important but people don't even see it as a big deal

I think that having a good first impression is always good. You never know if it will matter but that small chance could help down the line. I don't bother too much with it but maybe I should.
