Routine

If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I post every day. This year, I haven't missed a day, which is quite an accomplishment. However, there was a time when I struggled to post regularly. It's funny because even now, it's not any easier. Coming up with a topic is difficult, and putting a post together takes longer because I don't always have a clear idea of what I want to discuss. Despite this, I kept posting every day, although I also spent time engaging in the comments section. Still, it wasn't enough.

I didn't give up because I was inspired by the top account on this platform. They are always active and post every day, showing me that it's possible. One day, I saw one of these top accounts discussing the benefits of posting consistently, and it struck a chord with me. I realized that I needed fresh ideas, so I started reading books, but I wasn't making much progress until I stumbled upon a book about habits, behavior, and routines. Everything started to make sense, and I knew that I had to make some changes for things to work.

Habit, behavior, and routine.

I understand that consistently sharing content on Hive would have benefitted me, but I struggled to do so because I didn't establish a proper system for it. I focused on other priorities in my life and didn't give Hive the required attention. Even when I thought of a great idea, like reading every day to generate fresh ideas for my posts, I still couldn't make it work. To make anything succeed, you need a functional system, and the way to achieve that is by changing your behavior and habits to fit into this system and turning it into a routine. This is how you can make it work.

"There must be some things you are willing to change, like some of your habits and behavior, or alter your previous routine to make it. There is nothing you can't do if you are willing to let go of some of the things that are stopping you. My major problem was procrastination because I would tell myself I would post until it was too late, and I had to shift it to the following day. This was because I prioritized other things and even prioritized my comfort. However, I changed all of these by breaking the habit of procrastination, reading a chapter every day, and posting before doing anything else. I repeated this and turned it into a routine."

you have everything you need

To achieve anything in life, it's important to change your behavior and habits and turn them into a routine. Every small action we take daily adds up and can ultimately lead to significant changes in our lives. When we aim to learn a new skill or make important changes, we need to establish a working system and make it a part of our routine. Initially, it may seem difficult, but once we become accustomed to it, it becomes easier. This is how I managed to post consistently every day.

Thanks for your time.

I had a note where I'm always documenting everything. From crypto to personal life, finance and everything. So I usually have about 5 to 6 posts unwritten, so I could literally post everyday because I had a lot of posts in my note. However after my brother's death and my illnesses, I could no longer do that.

True, you used to skip a lot of days, when you started out, but you've managed to kill it consistently for a long time..

It's best if things become a habit. I know that it sucks to have a habit broken because it can cause issues down the line. I find that it's best if you continue the habit and once that is broken, it becomes hard to continue doing that everyday.

Having a functioning system in which habits are built is one of the best ways to be consistent in what we do, less friction and more time to do the work effectively. I try doing the most important tasks in the morning, just a bit after waking up!
