Rehearsals and drama
Today is Saturday and I woke up and cooked,did some little things,had my bath and went out.we’re having a particular project and today is the last day of rehearsals,everyone was prepared and full of energy,we were all putting our efforts even though it was kind of tiring and all,so it’s a drama and we’re to act according to our roles in the play.I’m not a major character in the play but a dancer,I’ve had interest in dancing since I was a kid,I found joy in it than any other thing,in primary school I joined the schools ballet club in order to perfect my dancing even though it meant my parents paying extra fees for it.Today we endured and practiced well,we had the main characters and the minor,a good friend of mine is actually one of the major characters,he is to act as a lover boy in the play,he was really shy but I encouraged him to do the best he could,oops! I’ve not mentioned the title of the drama,it’s actually a play by Abosede Ademilua Afolayan and the title is “once upon an elephant “,it’s a very interesting drama,so today some of my colleagues were shy and were not doing their part well,so they were all spoken to and got a grip of themselves.
We also had the chorus casts,among them were people doing eulogy and coronation songs,some were to hail and chant,I was actually among the chorus before I was instructed to join the dance group of characters, then,my role was to sing love song and chant and now I actually love the dance group,during the rehearsals I was really anticipating my turn to be on stage with my fellow dance people,our turns finally came and we got onstage to do our dance,I was in front and because of my popularity among other people in the team,they were all shouting my name and hailing me,this made me happy and added to my enthusiasm and I danced my part and everyone was saying “wow,she so good “ well I don’t know what they saw in particular that made them like my moves but I did my best and danced well.
Everyone did their parts and we all made some corrections because of some things that were yet to be done,the costumes were also brought and we all knew what fits our character best,during the whole thing,we were really exhausted and needed to recuperate,couldn’t get anything eatable in any nearby place so we sent two people to downtown to get the food for us,during the rounding up,we took pictures and went to the rooftop,we laughed and even played,it was a really nice experience and I really appreciate the effort of each and every person who made today’s rehearsal a great one and I look forward to the main day of the acting.
