OVERCOMING SELF DOUBT & BUILDING CONFIDENCE

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well.
Today, I'll be discussing a topic that resonates with most of us.

I know we all know what self-doubt means but I’ll still explain in the simplest form. Self-doubt simply means a lack of faith in oneself. Doubting oneself has held many of us back from achieving our goals and pursuing our dreams. Many things are attached to self-doubt, I’ll be talking about a few of them which are: speaking negatively to oneself, fear of failure, comparison with others, & past experiences.

Speaking Negative To Oneself

Some of us say negative things to ourselves, criticize ourselves, blame ourselves, and also focus on the bad things in our lives, and this tampers with our self-esteem and confidence.

Past Experiences

Past experiences also contribute to self-doubt. It creates a sense of inadequacy and self-doubt which remains in our minds and influences our confidence about our capabilities.

Comparison with others

Comparing with others is not being talked about enough, especially on social media. People constantly compare their lives with others which is very bad. This fires self-doubt in a lot of youths today and makes them feel inadequate.

Fear Of Failure

Fear of failure starts from past experiences that have happened and it stairs up so many setbacks. Fear of failure has prevented many people from growing. Fear of failure prevents taking risks and trying out new things which leads to self-doubt.

When we recognize the sources of self-doubt in our lives then we can start to challenge them, build confidence, and start believing in ourselves. I want you all to sit down, think, and identify the sources of your self-doubt is it Procrastination, indecision, lack of motivation, and so on.

Build confidence now, practice self-affirmations, focus on strengths and accomplishments, seek support from others, take small risks and step out of your comfort zones, grow your mindset, when you grow your mindset you remain positive, learn and develop personally, and lastly practice self-care and self-compassion. Overcoming self-doubt and building confidence takes time and involves a lot of effort but it is worth it.

Embrace your challenges, see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than hurdles. Also, learn from failure instead of seeing failure as a setback, see it as a chance to learn and improve. Be resilient, when you are resilient you can bounce back from challenges. Resilience is key to overcoming obstacles and growing from misery.

Change your inner dialogue and have a goal-oriented mindset. Start that thing today, start that business today, and stop doubting yourself. Most people let their imagination and plan stop them from starting and one thing they all fail to understand is that you don’t have to be great because you start, just do it.

Those are some good points and I think the best points is the opinions of others and the fear of failure. I feel that those two points tend to affect me more.
