Let us build the future with naira

Today, while scrolling through social media, I came across a news article on Twitter about a man who had converted $3,000 into 1,000,000 Naira two years ago and put the money in fixed deposits with the hope of getting a return of 1.1 million Naira. However, due to the recent fall in the value of Naira, the man was forced to convert his remaining 1.1 million into USD. He received a total of $700, which is quite surprising. It is unclear whether the man lost faith in Naira or simply panicked and converted his money into USD, but it seems like a good decision considering the current state of Naira.

Many individuals are now opting to convert their salaries to USD due to a lack of trust in the current leadership and how nobody seems to trust their vision for the country. During a conversation with an old friend, he mentioned that he converted his monthly salary of 45,000 naira to USD due to his lack of trust in the naira. The current government's lack of vision has caused many to lose faith, prompting them to convert their funds to a more stable currency like the USD.

Businesses in the country are increasingly shifting their funds from the Naira to USD due to the declining value of the Naira. It's understandable why they're doing this. For instance, setting up a business with 700,000 USD just to get a return would be pointless if the recent crash of Naira reduces your buying power when competing with other industries outside the country. This is why investors are quickly withdrawing their investments, causing the Naira to depreciate further.

We are all working against naira

It is evident that many citizens are converting their money into USD, which is understandable, but not beneficial for the future of the country. In order to support the Naira, it is important to avoid converting money into foreign currency, especially during these times. The government could help by implementing policies to discourage this behavior, but corruption within the government, including investments in USD, is also contributing to the decline of the Naira's value.

Corruption is not limited to the government, as it is also prevalent in the private sector. Unfortunately, some individuals seek ways to exploit the system instead of contributing to its improvement. Instead of working to strengthen the value of Naira, many people focus on increasing its price, which only benefits a few citizens. It's disheartening that some people pray for the Naira to decrease in value, as this gives them greater purchasing power when converting their money into naira. This approach is unfair to others and only serves to perpetuate corruption in the country.

Let's make it better

Sometimes, when you are fighting for a good cause, you might not be the one to benefit from it. It might be your children or your grandchildren that we can benefit from what you are fighting for now, and that is what most people don't understand. If you fight for the betterment of the country, we might not be able to benefit from it before we die, but the future generation might benefit from it. Instead of us going against Naira, we should try and build it. There's no point in going to another man's country to become enslaved When we have all it takes to build a futur's make it better.

Having a deep knowledge of the of a country's economy as well as a very good speculative skill is an advantage.

This is a very good lesson, I am glad to learn this.
Thanks for sharing

Oh really?
I didn’t even think about that
So the conversion is also a factor?

I’m sad for the man because $3000 to $700?
Whatttt?

It is crazy how people are losing money through conversion to get things that are imported into the country

It sucks when people lose faith in the currency. I don't think the country is really attempting to add value to the currency so I am not surprised that they are moving their funds into something that retains their value.

Hmm! The issue of naira falling against the dollar is now a big concern for every Nigerian citizen, and I sometimes pity those who get their salaries in naira because how are they going to cope? The current government is not bothered about anyone, and what they are bothered about is how to steal and loot money into their own purses. Only the strong financially can survive this hard time.

The funniest part is that the idiot president is saying that there is nothing that they can do about it that we must endure

Lol, the day I saw that also, I was just wondering the kind of president we will deal with for the rest of the years. But we would survive.

It's indeed unfair to others when some are converting to USD. But I guess more people are losing faith in the government's ability to solve the issue. I just hope things get better soon, instead of becoming worse.
