Goals won't keep you

I saw a guy that I was looking up to two years ago when I started going to the gym, this guy was so big at that time, and every day when I looked at his body, he inspired me to even want to do more in the gym. a few weeks ago when I saw him he already lost all his muscles and when we started having a conversation, he said he had not been going to the gym for some time ever since he was able to get his desired body. He stopped working out, but now he regrets all his actions because the body works so hard to build now is gone and I feel sorry for him. we have so many people like that in the gym, Some people set goals to lose their belly fat. Some people set goals to lose their body fat and immediately after they achieve it they stop coming to the gym.

Most people always forget how stressful it is to achieve a goal and what you have to go through to build a sustainable system to achieve it. the truth is nothing comes easy in life, especially when we want to do things that will benefit us and also the people around us. After achieving our goals there isn’t always a motivation there again, we don’t have any reason whatsoever to keep pushing so we stop completely and go back to the bad behavior that made us set that goal in the first place and takes us back to square one. when most people achieve their goal, they lose all the motivation, and willingness to keep doing it just because it is a short-term vision, not a long-term vision.

Goals will make you win but will not keep you going.

people always design goals as your short-term vision and this is because most goals are built around our desires, and they are not always built around our long-term desires. Most goals are built around our short-term desires, and also people build goals around their happiness. We restrict ourselves from being happy until we achieve our goals, and most goals, are built to face our short-term needs that’s why when we achieve our goals, we lose the motivation because of the sense of fulfillment that we have achieved what we want. indeed, goals that can give us the win we want but it is mostly short-term.

instead of building short-term goals to have a good body why don’t you build a long-term goal to be healthy for the rest of your life? the easiest way to do this is to build a system that works, goals will make you win the game and you will go back to square one system but the system will keep you in the game, that is why when we are considering things in life, it is always better we build a system and this also happens in business, Some people’s business can’t operate without them just because they don’t have a system in place. after we have achieved our goals and stopped the hard work that took us there will be wasted.

Thanks for your time.

It sucks to see that. I agree that it's easy to lose all of those gains once you stop your routine. I would also regret it if I lost that type of body after working so hard to get it in the first place.

build a long-term goal to be healthy for the rest of your life, I think this is the key. If you have a life lasting goal then you'll be up and running daily
