Hello everyone, how are you all doing? Today I’ll be talking about a powerful topic which is “Getting to Know Yourself”
Have you ever stopped to self-reflect on who you are? Have you ever thought of why you react in certain ways or make choices you do?
Getting to know ourselves is a very powerful journey and funnily it requires patience and reflection. To go deep into the depths of our hearts and minds and take time to understand ourselves is a very good thing. It leads to greater self-awareness and emotional emotional intelligence emotionally.
I want us to create a space for self-reflection. I want us to sit for a moment to study ourselves and sit with our thoughts. When we articulate our feelings, we become self-conscious and aware.
When it comes to relationships, we usually focus on understanding others and not ourselves. We neglect the most important person in the equation which is ourselves. Getting to know our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings is very important when it comes to building a relationship.
Getting to know ourselves is when we observe ourselves, our emotions, and our thoughts without judgment. When we sit to recognize our strengths and weaknesses, even our values and boundaries it goes a long way. When we don’t get to know ourselves we will struggle when it comes to communication and setting good boundaries.
Someone who doesn’t know his/herself will constantly blame other people rather than take responsibility for their actions. They will react to things without even thinking about the consequences. When it comes to ourselves it is very important to process our emotions before reacting to anything at all whether good or bad.
So many people here don’t even understand their self and they don’t take responsibility whatsoever for their actions. You believe you are always right and some people understand themselves but still choose not to take responsibility.
When it comes to getting to know our self we have to be vulnerable to some extent. it is very important to be open and honest about our strengths and weaknesses. Accepting our flaws helps us grow. Remember, nobody is perfect, and our imperfections make us human. By recognizing our vulnerabilities, we allow ourselves to be kinder to ourselves, which is even more important for personal growth.
Also, getting feedback about ourselves from friends and family can give us useful information about our behavior. Sometimes just ask people to be honest about what they think about you. Sometimes we do not even realize how we come across to others, and their perspectives can help us see things we might miss. Constructive criticism can help us grow, but we should be open to it and ready to learn. Don’t take offense.
In conclusion, Understanding and getting to know ourselves is key to having healthy relationships. When we know ourselves better, we can communicate, set boundaries, and own our actions. It's important to remember that getting to know ourselves is a journey. By reflecting on our thoughts, we can grow in empathy, compassion, and understanding in our relationships.
