The male Vindula dejone has golden orange upper wings with a broad, pale post-discal band on both wings. The hind wings are marked with a dark sub-marginal line and ocelli. The female has gray upper wings with a prominent white post-discal band, and the hind wings have orange-ringed ocelli. This species has a short tail that tapers to vein 4 of the hind wings.
