Three IPAs this #beersaturday
As if on command, every time I'm in Szeged, my feet take me to a pub where I've tasted fantastic craft beers several times.
Pub restaurant Malata, in addition to a great garden, where it is nice to sit when the weather is nice and warm, has a very interesting interior.
This time in the garden there is a display from last week, with pumpkins.

Every time I enter a pub, after looking for a free table, my eyes fly to the big sign above the sled with the taps.

This time I saw some beers on the boards that I didn't have the chance to try on previous visits.

I decided to drink a few IPA beers.
First up was Verdant Passing Thoughts

It is a New England IPA (NEIPA) or Hazy IPA, with 6.5% alcohol, created in cooperation between two English breweries, Verdant (founded in 2014) and Beak Brewery.

Verdant brewery focuses on the production of hazy, hoppy beers, primarily Pale Ales, IPAs and DIPA beers, in the New England style.
Passing Thoughts has a soft body, an intense hop flavor and pronounced tropical and citrus notes.
This beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized and vegan.
It has 6.5% alcohol and Nectaron, Mosaic and the newer Australian variety Eclipse hops were used for its preparation.
Passing Thoughts NEIPA has a soft and juicy body with a smooth mouthfeel, and the carbonation is quite low to bring out the hop character.
The hop combination (Nectaron, Mosaic, Eclipse) creates strong notes of tangerine and citrus, pineapple and mango.
The bitterness is moderate, and the color is pale yellow and cloudy.
Due to the mild bitterness and refreshing citrus notes, this beer is very easy to drink, which can be deceiving, due to the slightly higher alcohol %.
As the next drink, I ordered Hazy Queen, another NEIPA beer, produced by Horizont from Budapest, which I had already drunk on one of my previous visits.

Hazy queen is perhaps the most popular beer of the Horizont brewery.
At first glance, it is clear that it is a Hazy beer, and double hopped beer is confirmed by the first sip, when you can feel the pronounced fruity flavors and aromas of hops.

This beer is characterized by moderate bitterness (with IBU 45).
It has 6% alcohol, which is not felt in the mouth and it is a real pleasure to drink this beer.
Among the ingredients, in addition to water, barley malt, wheat malt, hops and yeast, wheat and oatmeal are added to this beer, which contribute to the creamy and cloudy appearance in the glass.
Increased amounts of hops: Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic gave this beer an intense, juicy and fruity aroma, so notes of tropical fruits dominate, such as mango, pineapple and passion fruit, along with citrus notes thanks to selected hop varieties.
Due to the grains used in the preparation of this beer, the mouthfeel is full and creamy.
After a very refreshing first beer, I liked this slightly fuller flavor and moderate bitterness, as a prelude to tasting the third:
Money cannon, breweries BYM (Brew Your Mind).

Brew Your Mind Money Cannon, another Hungarian IPA beer, double hopped.
In terms of composition, similar to the previous one, but with an increased percentage of alcohol (8.5%).
Bitterness is moderate, as with Hazy queen, but its flavors are more intense and it has a fuller body.
Double hopped with Australian and American hops: Amarillo, Galaxy and Citra, this beer is dominated by fruity and citrus aromas.

Unlike the last visit, now the place was very crowded.
ocktails were drunk, dumplings with cream and wild berries were eaten and it was very interesting to drink beer in the company of locals, who I didn't understand a single word, except "Cheers".
Looks like a delicious visit
Cheers and Prost
Živeli!
🙂
This place is just my
cup of teapint of beer! I love the cozy atmosphere, and the beer selection looks pretty neat.Egészségedre!
I found another pub, but the atmosphere was uninteresting to me, so I repeated Malata Pub. I didn't repent.
Na zdraví!
