The influence of the media today

When I saw one of the topics presented by galenkp for this weekend:
Are you influenced by what you see on the media

my first association was: A trash can and a hand reaching out to this blackness, to reach for something useful...

Just as there may be materials in the trash can that can be useful (but only after serious sorting and recycling), so it is with the information we receive daily through the media.

From the thousands of information that are presented to us daily through the media, perhaps one can find something useful (accurate and reliable), but in order to reach such information, it is not necessary to recycle, but only to make a good selection.

Because whoever falls under the influence of the media, by which I primarily mean informative or entertainment programs, without thinking for himself (how much what he is watching is true and good for him), enters a very dangerous zone.

He will hold and defend the views that have been imprinted on his mind through information and will try to live life as a star of an entertainment program, and unfortunately today these are most often reality stars, without excessive education and very low moral principles.

The only positive influence of the media can be found in the cultural and educational program and the sports program, in which, in addition to the importance of education and culture, the influence of "modern" gladiators, who in the sports disciplines they are engaged in, have achieved great success with their hard work and commitment.
Athletes who, with their behavior, positively influence the lives of young people, and promote a healthy life.

Those reality stars, who spread non-culture, immorality, kitsch, as well as various information programs that work according to the directives of who knows who, cannot have a positive influence on young people (and people in general).

So, what comes to us from the media should be consumed only after a serious selection, the best quality check and confirmation, in order to be completely sure that we are not taking in some waste, like from the bottom of a garbage can.
