Stuffed and plastic toys from "my" collection

Hello, Hive Collectors!

I saw that you often present the toys you have in your collections, so I decided to present "my" toysπŸ™‚

I very rarely go to my cottage, so when I do, I mostly help my mother with housework, small repairs and work in the garden.
I sleep in my bed in a minimally furnished room (read, only a bed and one glass case with books).
I rarely have time to visit the other rooms, the guest room, or my brother's room.
And since my brother comes even less often than I do, since he has a hard time fitting in a trip from the UK with his family, his room is like a small storage room.
Since he has a son, all our toys ended up in his possession, now packed on the shelf.

Our mother quite often wipes the dust from that shelf and toys, wanting them to be clean and ready to play if someone with a child comes to visit us.
My nephew has already finished playing with these toys, and now they serve us only as a memory (and as equipment to animate the youngest guests, although some of them are already outdated and not modern, they finish the job of keeping the little ones busy).
But no matter how little they are used, each of the toys has its own story, which brings back memories...

One of the oldest toys on this shelf is this teddy bear, which belonged to our sister (she passed away before my brother was born and he only knows her from a story, while I remember her likeness forever).

A picture of her in a hospital gown holding this teddy bear in her arms 😒

Next is this yellow-green toy creature, I don't know if it's a cat with too long arms and legs or a tiger, but I know that I played with that toy first, and then my brother.

And I believe that my nephew also dragged toy by her long arms and legs
πŸ˜ƒ

My brother got this puppy, and his favorite toy was ALF.

Did you watch this series from 1986-1990?
I don't know if I'm allowed to mention this inhabitant of the planet Melmac here, considering that many members are cat lovers, and ALF (Alien Form Life), as he was called by members of the Tanner family in whose house he settled, sees cats as a delicious delicacy πŸ˜ƒ

To me, this toy is one of the ugliest, but since my brother enjoyed playing with it, it has remained with us to this day.

Apparently something else from my brother's apartment ended up on this toy shelf when he moved, because I saw one figure that I assume is a wine bottle holder.

I don't have a bottle right now to check how these two keep their balance with a full bottle, but I will have one with me on the next tour to check, if not a bottle of wine, then a bottle of beer...

As for my favorite toy, I may have forgotten which stuffed toy I liked to play with, but I can safely say that my favorite to play with was this steering wheel car. It was not a remote control, so I was limited by the radius of movement, since I could only be as far away from the car as the cable to the steering wheel was long.

After my brother played with his puppy and ALF, along with the toys I also played with, they took shelter in the attic and waited for the birth of my brother's son there.
Some new ones have been added to the collection of already existing toys. Both plush and plastic.
So there were two black and white cows, one smaller and one a little bigger.

This blue bug, with rubber instead of paws, was my cousin's favorite when he was teething 😁
All day long he nibbled on the yellow rubber parts and rattled the toy, moving it left and right.

The little yellow baby Pluto, this baby tiger and the baby donkey are my cousin's favorite toys. I remember how we played together with them πŸ™‚

My nephew also had this singing dolphin, who danced to the sound (when clapping), performed his dance and song, until we changed his batteries several dozen times πŸ˜ƒ

Then it was probably stuffed and removed from the pile of favorite toys to play with.

The same fate, after several battery replacements, also had these caterpillars with shapes that are pressed, for more song tracks...

Each button plays its own song, all day, days and weeks, until the batteries run out.
After that, we delayed replacing the batteries, so that they would have some peace and quiet in the house πŸ™‚
.
I collected these toys from the Coca Cola series a few years ago, when they were given with codes on the bottle caps.

But just as the moments of play with these toys are missing, so is the noise and children's laughter that kept us from sleeping for days.
Now the children whose toys they were have grown up and have other interests, so these toys are sad and lonely waiting for a guest's child, to whom they will bring some fun... fun for the children, and a purpose for themselves.
It's a shame that they are only collector's items when they can still be played with πŸ™‚

Thank you for stopping by my post and I hope you enjoyed the photos of my toys and the story I shared with you

Hey @duskobgd

Thank you for bringing here this collection. You probably saw the toy collections as it was the monthly theme one of the previous months. Oh, the teddy bear - it is special... it also keeps the memory of your sister 😒

(Edited)

When I take this bear in my hands, my eyes tear up😒

It is possible that then (a few months ago) I saw more posts with toys, but then I didn't have these pictures of my collection (I rarely go to the cottage πŸ™).
I know the theme for this month is Dolce Vita, but I don't have a collection of sweets, I drink coffee without sugar and I don't take these little packs of sugar anywhereπŸ™‚

But I would have a good introductory picture for that post, taken yesterday in the window of a shop...

It still can be the perfect cover photo for a Dolce Vita theme post ;)

(it doesn't have to be strictly sugar, but things that sweeten your life :D)
