Pivoteka (Beer shop) Bansko - Craft beer mountain base
Descending from the high mountain and returning to Bansko, in a day spent with a little water to refresh myself while hiking on the mountain, made me very thirsty.
Imagine my pleasure when I came across this advertisement while passing through the pedestrian zone.
Big hill, on one side (from which I had just arrived) and on the other side, a bar serving cold beer, which I had just headed to.
The advertisement on the store's window clearly indicated to passers-by what was served there.
Pivoteka Bansko - Craft beer mountain base
A place where I will quench my thirst 🙂
Pivoteka offers a large selection of bottled beers and beers in cans, and they have Croatian and Bulgarian beers on tap (three beers each).
I didn't want to buy beer in bottles, and I don't drink Croatian beer in Bulgaria, so I decided to taste all three beers on tap, from Bulgarian breweries.
I didn't know anything about these beers, and it wasn't until I got back to the hotel and checked the three beers online that I realized they were from two breweries.
The first beer I had was from Meltum Brewery, Mr Hops, Pale Ale, 4.5% alcohol.
Refreshing, drinkable, beautiful yellow color, clear, with a thin foam that lasts for a short time, this beer instantly quenched my thirst.
The next two beers I ordered were also from a Bulgarian brewery - Kazan Artizan.
Manana Hazy IPA with 5% alcohol
and Rye IPA with 6.8% alcohol.
Both beers have a citrus smell and taste, they are cloudy, beautiful yellow in color, the foam looks nice when pouring, but it falls quickly, so for the full impression of the tropical citrus smells and tastes of these two beers, you need to drink the first sips immediately after pouring.
The mission to quench my thirst was successfully carried out with the tasting of these three beers from the taps, and only after I stopped being thirsty, I returned to the bar to look around the interior.
Only then did I see that in addition to the beer selection, they also have a very good selection of non-alcoholic beers, ciders and sparkling wines, prosecco (which I was not interested in at all), as well as a selection of short-sleeved t-shirts with the pivoteka logo.
These posters are also interesting to me, and the cutest one is the one with a black cat drinking beer and thus saving water 🙂.
Satisfied with the discovery of this pivoteka and the tasty and interesting beers from two Bulgarian breweries, I went to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.
If you have the opportunity to try the beers from the Meltum and Kazan Artizan breweries, definitely do it, you will not be disappointed.
And if, like me, you don't walk around Bansko thirsty, I share this interesting beer shop point on my #worldmappin map.
Cheers!

This is so refreshing drink. Enjoy!
Thanks 🙂
the color of those beers are wonderful, i would like taste the hazy ipa :D
Doable, but that tasting would cost you a lot 🙂
Flight from South America to Europe, then transfer to Bulgaria.
It's cheaper if you take my word for it - the taste is phenomenal 😀
Smart placement of a beer store, I know I would be turning in there after a hike on the big f'ing hill.
