Magical "Winter Idyll"

When large, white, snow flakes cover the hills and mountains, the landscapes we see then seem idyllic.
Even though the temperature is low, the beauty you can see in these pictures taken today when I returned home from a business lunch, warms the soul and body.

I enjoyed walking through the park to my apartment, walking in the snow that kept falling.

The little ones took advantage of the snow and took their sleds up the hill, and we, the older ones, will bring out shovels and brooms later tonight or tomorrow morning, to clean the snow from the sidewalks and from our cars.

And when I left for work this morning, it was dry, no snow or rain.

It started raining around noon, and while we were having our business lunch, which traditionally closes the business year, the rain was replaced by snow.
When we started home, there was a lot of snow on the street that was melting and making slush.
By the time I got to the parking lot where I left my car and cleared it of the falling snow, I was wet. The shoes I had on were not designed for snow and wet weather, but for a car and a restaurant...

I had to drive 20 km to the apartment and I was glad that the temperature did not drop below zero and that the snow and water did not freeze.
Because of the wet shoes, I turned up the heat...

Everything was great until I got to a part of the city that is always under heavy traffic...
Little by little, I made my way through the crowd on the wide boulevards and the highway, and then I approached the narrow, steep streets where there was a traffic jam.
To hell with it. I spent those last 5 km stuck for over 2 hours.
The hit of the day was a van driver who turned off the engine of his vehicle and went into the nearby darkness, probably to relieve himself.

I also thought of following in his footsteps, but it was stupid because it's my neighborhood, I was only 500m from my apartment...
Bit by bit, I slowly approached the last obstacle of my journey home from work today, there is an intersection to cross.

Heavy traffic, blocked cars, snow-covered wipers, fogged-up windshield, Hot N Cold, Katy Perry playing in the car
Fogged windows in the car are because it is Hot inside, while outside it is snowing and very Cold.
Some would say, a real Winter idyll.
Fucked winter idyll.

It snowed on me today, my journey took two hours longer, and I believe that today's snow also snowed on these drivers who, like me, were in their vehicles, trying to reach their destination...

Hahahaha... I like how the story began with wonderful emotions and feeling about the snow, and in the end, it finished with "Fucked winter idyll." 😂

I talked with my parents yesterday and they told me that it was snowing, but I didn't expect that it was that much snow!

I do remember the days of driving a Yugo in the narrow, steep streets of Belgrade during the winter... It's not fun when the road freezes! ❄️

The Yugo was great in the snow, just winter tires and it went anywhere you went.
I'll have to meet you to see where you drove that Yugo in Belgrade, maybe we've met before... 🙂

Oh, I was all around... 😃 Sometimes twice per week in Belgrade, going from one IT company to another... On some occasions, I would visit over 10 in just one day... lol... And imagine how it was with all the traffic in the morning/noon hours... 😃

MBSoft (they had storage in the port... I suppose where now is Waterfront), TNT computers (Dusanovac), Comtrade (Novi Beograd), there were many others around Slavija, Autokomanda, and I remember buying empty DVDs and CDs at Banovo Brdo... 😂

But I remember one cold, freezing day at Dusanovac when I got into a one-way narrow street that was downhill... 🤣 I think I didn't take that route but rather chose the other way around it... It was too risky to go down there... 😂

and the legendary story of going down from Kosutnjak without breaks on Yugo... 😂

Nice memories of some great days...

While you were chasing components for computers in the hills of Belgrade, I lived in the center.
Now I'm on one of those hills too 🙂Near Dusanovac, at the end of Ustanicka.
