I raise my glass and say Cheers!!! to a personal anniversary

This Saturday #beersaturday came at the right time, when I received a notification and a congratulations for the third year at Hive.

I know it's not a lot, there are some of you here with 8 or 9 candles, but these three of mine shine brightly for me, especially since I was constant for those three years, which, in addition to counting the years on Hive, I reached some other goals I set for myself.

One of them was to get actively involved in the #Beer community and for now, I really enjoy hanging out with Hive beer drinkers and getting to know the world's craft beers.

But enough about me, I want to introduce you to what I toasted this #beersaturday

In one of the previous posts, I wrote about Banat beer that I bought at the Belgrade open bazaar.

At the time, I promised to get back to you soon with tasting impressions of the remaining two, but it's been a while since then.

The beers were hidden deep in my fridge and waiting for the right moment (when I'm not working, when I have no commitments AND I don't have to get behind the wheel of the car, when I'm celebrating my third anniversary at Hive 😀)

In any case, today it was the turn of two beers produced by the Banat beer brewery from Kikinda.
If there are any more of my friends from the #Banat community who have tried these beers, they can share their impressions with us.

Kikinda's "Pivo od ludaje", made from pumpkin, has this interesting name because since the eighties of the last century, a four-day festival dedicated to pumpkins (or Ludaja, as some call them) has been held in Kikinda during October.

A dark, cloudy, unfiltered and unpasteurized beer with 4.7% alcohol was obtained by combining pumpkin in the beer-making process, where only water was used (from the new Kikinda water supply system, which was boasted by the beer seller at the open bazaar stand), barley malt and hops.

This beer has not expired and I kept it in the fridge since I bought it, so it was not affected by the high summer temperatures...

After pouring, I was interested in the beautiful color and the slight smell of slightly baked pumpkin that was felt in the glass, but the taste was strange to me, so much so that I didn't want to risk drinking this beer.
I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like, so I didn't want to drink it in case it was spoiled.

For this beer, the manufacturer wrote
"This beer is made from small nutmeg pumpkins - called "tamburica" in Kikinda, with the addition of aromas of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger. And the procedure also involves roasting the pumpkin a little first, so that it caramelizes."

I'm sorry I didn't get that caramelized taste of stuffed pumpkin in my mouth.
Maybe some other time.

And I regret even more that I will disappoint Hive friends who were interested in the impressions of this beer in the last post about the beers of the Balkan Beer brewery, but it was not worth it.

If I find myself at a bazaar again and have the opportunity to taste freshly brewed beer from the madman, I will contact you.
And maybe someone from Banat has already drunk this beer, so they can share their experiences?

And so, as the title of the post says, I raise a glass and top it off with "Fijaker" India Pale Ale beer.

This IPA with 6.2% alcohol is another story.
A nice dark color, the smell of citrus notes that spreads from the glass after pouring, high and persistent foam, are the characteristics of a good IPA beer.

This beer, although very young, has already been in some local competitions since 2020 and won some awards.

When it comes to the taste, there is more bitterness and tropical flavors that don't quite manage to overpower the higher alcohol content of this beer.

It's certainly interesting, but quite strong and I would recommend it with some lunch with meat, because it seemed too strong during the day and it didn't seem good for refreshment.

But anyway, it's great for a big "Cheers!!!"
