Dos casas - Two houses and their facades for #POBPhotocontest-
With a light step, looking at the facades of the wide boulevard Passeig de Gracia, I walked around Barcelona.
The rain soaked my shoes, but that did not diminish my enjoyment of the beauty of the facades of the surrounding houses.
Casa Batllo
This boulevard is perhaps the most visited in all of Barcelona, because at a distance of a few hundred meters, at a distance of two blocks, the most famous houses in Barcelona (and I believe also beyond) are located next to each other.
The task that @friendlymoose gave us this week, on the subject of Building decorations in the #POBPhotocontest, I will probably fail, i.e., exaggerate the number of pictures, because there are no decorations on these buildings.
Entire houses are works of art.
One popular stone house is "The Quarry (La Pedrera)", whose entire facade is made of massive stone, with decorative wrought iron on the terraces (reminiscent of seaweed) and the entrance door.
The second is the "House of Bones" (Casa dels ossos), whose facade, depending on the angle from which it is viewed, as well as the lighting at night, resembles a skeleton...
Casa Milo and Casa Batlo, a masterpiece of the famous Spanish architect Antonio Gaudi.
Casa Mila was designed at the request of the Mila family and was built between 1906 and 1912.
To date, it has been reconstructed several times, so it has retained all its beauty as it was when it was built, and it is included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list.
Casa Batlo was designed as a family house that was built between 1905 and 1907.
Unlike Casa Mila, which is completely stone, except for the roof, which is covered with tiles, Casa Batlo is completely covered with pieces of broken ceramic tiles, which gives it a dazzling shine.
Both houses are dominated by irregular lines, there are no sharp edges, the facade of Casa Mila resembles sea waves, while on the roof of Casa Batlo there is a recognizable detail of a dragon's back, dotted with colorful broken tiles...
Casa Mila
I took pictures of them during the day, but also at night, with my mobile phone.
The impression of both buildings is incredibly different and phenomenal. I think that for this task, no skill in handling the camera is required, whatever detail is photographed, amazes the viewer.
For the #POBPhotocontest, you can choose any photo of your choice... or a photo of the entire facade or details with wrought iron, they are all beautiful, everyone can enter the contest 🙂
Thank you for stopping by my post and I hope you enjoyed the photos and the story I shared with you
All photos are my property, taken with a mobile phone
