A sudden, short walk around the airport
Today I had no idea that I would walk. After a full day of work, the plan was to drive to the airport and wait for my mother, who was returning from a trip.

Eh, if I were in her place (two weeks in Paris), I would show you all kinds of things.
In this way, only through the photos she sent me, I had the opportunity to see what Paris looks like.
I can only hope that I will visit it sometime 🙂
And what happened?
Due to a slight delay in take-off, the flight will also be delayed in arrival.

And how does it affect me, who has planned every hour of the day? So I suddenly had an entire hour, which I could either spend sitting in the car in the parking lot or walking around the airport complex, that is, in those areas where I could walk.

It was cold to walk outside, but I went around the parking lots and photographed the old and new control tower, as well as the old and new terminal building.
Nikola Tesla Airport was reconstructed last year, parking lots were built in several zones.

There are small parking lots near the entrance to the airport building, where the price of parking is more expensive than sitting in a restaurant and drinking coffee, in addition to parking in a multi-level garage, to a large parking lot for 1500 vehicles to which a bus runs every 15-20 minutes - a great combination for those who come by car and travel for several days.
Parking for 5 days costs the same as a taxi in one direction to and from the airport.
From the parking lot, you can see the access road for vehicles that bring passengers.

The first building, under the old control tower is actually Terminal 1, the old terminal, which was the only airport building for many years.
Today, that terminal houses the counters of low-budget companies, as well as the counters of tourist agencies that organize travel.

Although an old part, it does not look bad.
Through a narrow tunnel, you reach the new terminal, the part where the companies' salteries are located.

The airport is crowded at almost every moment of working hours, especially before noon, so I was surprised by the desolation of the counters.
The Air Serbia company has opened flights to all European and world destinations, so in certain parts of the day, it is like a beehive here. That was not the case this evening.

Because of those occasional crowds, when I go on a short trip, I like it best when I can bypass the saltera, that is, when I don't have luggage to hand over.
When I have luggage, waiting in line is inevitable, and before I stand in line, I always check the situation first, to see where the counter workers are the fastest.
Although sometimes even that doesn't help me.

One of my previous checks
When I walked around the terminal building and shared with you some photos, taken in the areas where photography is not prohibited, from the departures floor, I moved to the floor below, where the "Arrivals" area is.

There you can find taxi association counters, rental car counters, exchange offices and machines with drinks and snacks for "first aid" until you leave the airport.

The most important thing for me was the info board where I could monitor the status of the flight, so that I wouldn't have to leave and be there when "my" passenger goes through customs control.

A little more walking, viewing the contents, going to the toilet and the time for landing has arrived.
And when the mother I was waiting for lands, she immediately jumps into the car and we fly on.

My today's #wednesdaywalk was actually a walk in the break of waiting between two flights - the one in the sky and the one we "fly" every day, combining our obligations.

Haha only you could turn a flight delay into a photo walk adventure! Neat to see the design & architecture. Brings back memories of when I did a lot of international flying and visited airports like this around the world on the way.
in leisure time, a person entertains himself in various ways.
What kind of airports have I been to, this one in Belgrade is like a minor one in some European city.
I saw airport giants: Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Moscow, Istanbul... Nikola Tesla in Belgrade is like a part of those big European airports. I can only imagine some world 🙂
My parents visited Paris more than twice but I never visited it I hope I can visit it one day, by the way airports always fascinated me all those people that travel, foreigns , the atmosphere of wait and expectations. ...
One line, on two floors.
Tears of sadness at departures and tears of joy at arrivals.
How many times the lump stuck in my throat and my eyes filled with tears...
I am considering a tour of Paris as a serious project.
10 days of vacation and over 10 locations to visit.
A demanding route both in terms of time and money.
Last summer, they were renovating something, and the biggest part was closed... Is that finished now? It was in the departure area, when we were traveling back to Spain...
Btw. It looks like we will be visiting this airport sooner than expected... Somewhere in April... 😃
They have finished renovating the area at the exit to the gates, but there are still some parts closed for passengers.
I will also go on a short trip at the end of April, so I have another walk around the terminals, gates and free shops.
Maybe we will meet? 🙂
Do you have any obligations in Bg or NS or are you only in Apatin?
I didn't expect this visit to Serbia, but my wife wanted it, so here we come... We will fly to Budapest on the way there, but we booked the return flight from Belgrade on the 14th, I think... Nothing to do in Belgrade, but maybe we could arrange some mini-meetup, if you are interested... Or at the airport terminal... 😂
Oh, you are coming to Alicante at the end of April? 😃
I will be in Belgrade in mid-April, so if you have time, we can have coffee, even at the terminal 🙂
I'm traveling a week later, but I'm only going to Nice and Monte Carlo for a few days.
Unfortunately, I won't make it to Alicante, because the date of the Hive meetup doesn't suit me at all.
I have to be in Belgrade that week before the celebration of "Slava".
I'm not going to walk around Spain, while I have to prepare the house and wait for guests.
We will be in contact... ;)
Awesome! We passed by Nice and Monte Carlo many times, but never went into the cities... Maybe one day... 😃
