Scotland on Film: The N90 Part 4

Scotland is known for a few things: kilts, coos, haggis, Scottie from Star Trek (played by a Canadian, but who's judging?). But the thing that I love the most is fine Scottish whisky! For a taste of this delicious Scottish treat we visited the Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin, way up north.

I have been on brewery tours, but I've never seen a liquor distillery. This was definitely a bit more involved of a process. So many vats and tubes, heating and cooling and condensing.

I learned a few things, namely that it's not called "Scotch". It's just "whisky", with no "e" and it's the only respectable version of the drink.

I beg to differ on the last point, bourbon is more my speed, but a proper Scottish whisky is the only liquor that pairs well with a cigar. I also learned that I was drinking it wrong. I thought neat and straight was the only manly way to do it. Nope. Add just a drop of water and the flavors just pop!

Anywho, I will eventually post the digital pictures I got there. Maybe for a Monomad challenge.
