Scotland on Film: The N90

If you know me, you know I'm a bit obsessed with film. This obsession of course meant that I had to take film to Scotland. This was a terrifying prospect though, since airport security has not been known for it's helpfulness to film users.

I decided I wouldn't let them deter me and I bought a massive camera bag and an uncountable number of film rolls. This was going to be my chance to have fun!

I loaded up five cameras (one digital, four film) and headed off to the airport. Thankfully, I listened to all the Reddit posts about asking security to hand check my film and had no issue besides the film I had loaded in my Nikon N90. This is that film.

Sometimes I wonder if people just over-exaggerate because they can or because they are ignorant. It appears that the x-rays and whatever other rays this film was subjected to had little to no effect on the film at all. The color looks right. The images exposed just fine and developed the same.

Of course the trip wasn't all Edinburgh, though I could have spent all my time there. These few photos were taken in Dundee. We took a tour of the ship Discovery, which made a successful expedition to Antarctica back in 1901-1904 and a failed one in 1910-1913.

We also visited a fishing village for fish and chips. This is Anstruther, home of the Wee Chippy. MMM

With five cameras I didn't use up the film as quickly as I had hoped, so much of the roll jumps around place to place.

Of course we also went to the birthplace of golf in St. Andrews.

And to finish off this set, one of the most photographed places in Scotland, Donnotar Castle.
