One of the things that we love to do at DreemPort is introduce our dreemers to community collaborations each month. They might be communities that have been around for a while! Or... they might be newer communities! But we descend on that community as a group, holding hands and taking the fear out of stepping into newer waters!

It's always a HUGE joy when we get to embark on a community, but it's always a special thrill when we get to DEBUT a community for it's "GRAND OPENING" on Hive.

And that's what we get to do this month!!!

One of our very own dreem teem dreemers - @kenechukwu97, has come up with a GREAT new community, and what better way to have a Grand Opening Party, than with a bunch of dreemers!!!

HERE is what you need to know for this month Dreemers!

Though this community will normally be a ONE - POST - PER - MONTH challenge, WE asked if we could offer a THREE WEEK, THREE QUESTION bash!!! We happen to think that dreemers are the best thinkers! hahaha So let's get those wheels turning as @kenechukwu97 challenges us with some thoughtful provocations!

Thanks to the generosity of @selfhelp4trolls and @felixxx, this community will be offering 750 HP in delegations each month for the winners!

Since we stepped up this challenge for its debut month, we are going be tripling the delegations offered! There will be an additional 2250 HP in delegations offered - so NOW is the time to jump right in and brand yourself a THINKER!!!

Once you have written your post for this challenge, DON'T FORGET to drop it into DreemPort by 4pm Pacific deadline this Thursday, and each Thursday thereafter for the 3 weeks of this challenge!

The new year is promising, this initiative will bring out and create great thinkers on Hive. I am excited about this new community created by @kenechukwu97, he is doing greatly well.

When I saw this on discord I got my post ready right away. I will submit on Thursday as the rule states.

Also... sorry, if this has been explained elsewhere, but what does the percentage number next to a post I submitted to Dreemport mean?

Exactly! On challenge days - you'll see a banner on the submission page alerting everyone that only challenge posts should be submitted that day. So - same as always - but a collection of only challenge posts to be curated and ranked against each other that day!

And that % number is your ranking for the day - (which we are actually going to be changing soon.)

In life - a 50% score on a test is pretty bad. failing actually haha

but for DreemPort - that's an average rating! The only way to get a VERY high score for the day - is if everyone that got your post in their curation that day - ALL ranked you as their top 1 or 2. (which can of course happen!)

We have plans to change this format simply because we want people to see that number as a measurement of how they resonated with that particular audience for the day. If its lower than they expected, they can ask themselves - is it my topic? is it my delivery? grammar errors? or is it maybe just not as popular of a subject matter with that particular audience. Should I try new things? Are there areas where I can improve? etc...

However, since that "school test" mentality is so ingrained in us... and people don't usually see a 57% rating as something to cheer... hahaha we are going to implement a new rating system that lets people have a more objective (and positive) evaluation to track! hehe

we are also going to probably add in a way for people to just track their own progress - not just evaluate against others... "did you increase your rating over the week?" / "can you beat your best score?". Those kind of fun tweaks!

And just so you know - i love that you ask questions like this! even if i have answered them elsewhere - i'll always answer you fresh in a comment hehehe

I can see that the Submit section of Dreemport has changed to accommodate this challenge. That is super cool. The more time I spend with Dreemport, the more impressed I am!

Thanks for explaining the percentages, I didn't realise it was related to the curation ranking, which of course makes total sense now you've explained it. Although I can see one of the posts in the Daily Rankings for today with a score of 101.50% which might be impossibly impressive, haha.

Awesome! I'll have to join the Dreemer Discord server soon. I'm going to be doing the gFam Monthly Progress Report this weekend, so I'm sure that'll help those creative collab ideas to flow...

aha - so... that 101.5% IS AN ACTUAL THING...

hehehe so let me explain THAT part to you :)

so the only way that someone could get 100% is if EVERYONE who had that post thought it was the best. (which does happen)

but the extra percentage... that is from a STAR BOOST.

You may or may not have seen this yet... it comes when you log in TWO times in a row, on two consecutive days of curation.

When you do this... we reward you with the ability to give ONE post an extra boost on their ranking.

It isn't enough to make you go from the bottom to the top! hahaha It's just enough to slide you up a bit! a percentage or two. and that might be all the difference for you to make the daily top 5 that day!

You can ONLY give the star to someone ONCE in 20 dreemport days. We do that so you don't just follow your friends around giving them boosts hehe

and if you DON'T curate the day before - you have no star to give! hehehe

Also another reason why we did this is because - since your rankings are based on ranking each other... (meaning its not an arbitrary ranking - you MUST give someone a 1, and someone a 5 - etc... even if there are 2 people that you really think deserve the top spot!)

THIS is why it hurts a little less to give somene that 2nd place ranking - if you really want them to have a tie with 1st! hehehe

you can ease the pain of that by giving them 2nd place - with a little nudge!

Hahaha, that SUPER helps!

I remember you talking about the star boost in the introductory videos... and I've seen the option myself but never actually used it. It's an awesome idea, and I really will remember to use it when it makes sense to.

I'm excited too! It's amazing to watch such a unique platform grow and evolve!
