RETRACTION: I WAS A FOOL TO THINK THIS WAS STRUCTURAL

I withdraw everything I said about incentives, design, governance, or economics in the previous two posts. I have been enlightened now. Clarity has intercepted my fogged up brain. Everything I said before was academic nonsense. I can see clearly now.

It was never about structures or the rituals and blind applauses over infinite loops that lead nowhere. The real problem, now made crystal clear, is that the wrong people are allowed to speak.

Hive doesn't suffer misaligned rewards. Oh no no no no. And it definitely doesn't suffer from any destabilization factors. That's just conspiracy theories. What hive really suffers from is insufficient social cleansing.

According toa newly discovered doctrine, the solution is quite simple.

1. If an author is unpopular, they are abusive.
2. If they are abusive, they must be removed.
3. If they are removed, and they will be, the chain will be healthy.

It is the only humane option we have to save hive infrastructures across the entire board.

In order to be well understood of this method. We must first define what is popular. Or should I say, they will be defining what that is. Because I sure as hell am not popular here. So I must be silence and removed as well. It is the only way. We all know it is possible to freeze accounts.

No wonder on-boarding new users is at a snails pace. It explains everything why so many users are leaving hive. It's not a tragedy they are leaving. They are literally being filtered out for hives sakes.

Who needs them anyways! The popular folk is all that is needed!

Popularity, for the longest time in history, has been measured by us plebs as something where attention was most given energy to. How wrong we have been. And it certainly is not really measured by our readers nor the demand of our content. Don't be foolish. Open your mind. That would be chaotic. Is chaotic.

What popularity is really measured by is whale tolerance, insider familiarity, narrative compliance, and the comforting absence of disruption.

Anything else is garbage and irrelevant.

With that said, I also retract anything I said against down vote culture and censoring dissent. Downvoting unpopular authors is not censorship but medical intervention for the hive economy.

The patient (the chain) cannot heal while symptoms (unapproved voices) persist. Therefore, symptoms must be suppressed until only approved voices remain. If this resembles authoritarian content control, that is merely coincidence. Authoritarianism involves force. This only involves taste.

An Unfortunate Edge Case

Some may ask:

“What if the people defining popularity are themselves unpopular outside the bubble?”

This question is dangerous and should be highly discouraged. Anything that questions and contradicts the popular way must be resolved with DVD, freezing accounts, anything that is possible to get them to shut up or be hidden forever. At least untill they are approved by the popular club.

If you're reading this, it's quite highly possible you are not popular at all. For I have already stated that I am not. Therefore, any interaction with me is a signal that you are likewise in the same boat as I. Thus, you should take into consideration the amount of abuse that you are putting the hive infrastructure through.

Popularity is contextual. Anything outside the room does not exist.

Final Diagnosis

Once the unpopular are silenced, or driven away, Hive will finally become what it was always meant to be:

• a stable chain
• with stable people
• expressing stable opinions
• to the same stable audience
• forever

No markets.
No discovery.
No embarrassment.

Just popularity, circulating in a closed loop, applauding itself for surviving.

Sorry. That's just the way things gotta be. Hive is the promised chain for the popular kids. They have suffered enough.

For the Health and Stability of the Chain

Objective
To eliminate reward pool abuse by ensuring that only popular authors are permitted to receive rewards, visibility, or continued participation.

Definition of Popularity
Popularity shall be defined as approval by established, influential participants within the ecosystem.
Popularity is not determined by readership, market demand, external recognition, or voluntary support outside approved circles.

Classification of Abuse
An author shall be considered abusive if they:

• fail to receive sufficient approval from influential stakeholders
• introduce disruptive questions, criticism, or unapproved narratives
• attract attention without prior social endorsement

Unpopularity constitutes abuse by default.

• Whales are encouraged to downvote unpopular authors preemptively.
• Downvotes shall be framed as ecosystem maintenance, not punishment.
